This is a ‘pitch’ for a TV series.
I have been pitching shows for 20 years, and most of the time we start with paper.
This time I wanted to start online. Its an experiment.
I am also intrigued with the idea of an ‘open platform’ pitch. So if you’ve gotten this far, please leave a comment on what you think of the concept, the approach or anything else.

Like the sideshow itself nothing is what it appears! I love this idea because it challenges peoples’ notions of what sideshows and their performers are. There is nothing like it on telelvision. Also, I love that the show is American. These are not far off destinations. They’re in our own backyard.
is this the best TV can do after being with us for more than half a century? A Victorian-style fairground freak show? It was primative back then, it’s still primative.
ps: I think you can pitch until you’re blue in the face, but no broadcast organisation on earth is going to risk this kind of material. You can just see the court cases brought by bereaved parents who believed the disclaimers at the top of each performance were not sufficient ……this kind of stuff will only ever exist in an unregulated environment (ie: here) along with some of the more extreme forms of porn……
